Long description
Walk begins with the spectacular view from the top of Cross Mountain, looking west over the valleys created by Town and Barons Creeks, which flow south into the Pedernales River. Then the route winds through residential areas. Open daily.

Wheelchairs/strollers are OK on route, rated 1A, except for the first 0.4 km dirt/gravel trail, going up to top of Cross Mountain, which is steep and rated C. The walk up the trail is optional. Restrooms are available at the Cross Mountain park.

Driving to the start box
501 E. Main St. (US 290/87), Fredericksburg TX 78624. (800-274-3762 sundayhouseinn.com) From IH-10 at Exit 477, turn east on US-290; at Exit 523, turn north on US-87. Continue to the start point on the south side of Main St. WALK BOX is in the lobby. After registering at Sunday House Inn, drive about 2.7 miles to base of Cross Mountain.
