Event information
This interesting walk begins at the historic Stagecoach Inn, once a stop on the Chisholm Trail, and includes historic homes, a sculpture garden, and the ruins of Salado College, founded in 1859. The Central Texas Area Museum (at Visitor's Center, along the route) houses many artifacts from the Native Americans and the Scottish early settlers. Bridges (including the first wire cable suspension bridge in America) over Salado creek and springs provide beautiful vistas.

Driving to the start box
1991 N. Stagecoach Rd. Salado, TX. 76571. Open 24/7. Travel N on I-35 from Austin and take exit 286. Holiday Inn will be immediately on your right. Travel S on I-35 from Waco and take exit 286, cross left over I-35. Holiday Inn will be on your right. Walkbox located on floor at left, inside first door. Drive short distance to begin walk.
