Event information

DRIVE TO START: From Government Camp, go east on US 26 12 miles. Right (South) onto FS 42 for 4.2 miles. Right (West) onto FS 58 and following a sign to Little Crater Lake. Turn into Little Crater Lake Campgound after 2.4 miles. Follow access road to parking area at far end of campground. Restroom at trailhead only. Start from Little Crater Lake Campground in a big, beautiful meadow and pass by Little Crater lake filled by an artesian spring and a constant 34 degrees. 0.3 miles from the trailhead you hit the PCT in a grove of big Douglas firs and rhododendrons. Left on the PCT takes you to Timothy Lake. The Trail follows above the lake and campgrounds. At about 3.5 Km there's a faint trail leading down to the lakeshore with good swimming and a good view to the main lake. Return from here for a 7km hike. Continue on to for the 10km turn around and further to the base of the lake and return for a 13.5/14K hike. Gentle elevation change. Excellent hike for children.
