If you miss the parking lot, then right on Routh, and right on ally-like street to the parking lot behind One Arts Plaza. Restrooms available along the route but not at the start point.

In observance of Black History, explore the uptown Dallas area settled by blacks after the Civil War. Walk will visit Freedman's Cemetery, Griggs Park where Ernie Banks played as a youth, the first black Catholic Church, Notre Dame Academy, YMCA, historic churches, and the Knights of Pythias building designed by William Sydney Pittman, son-in-law of Booker T Washington and famed African American architect, plus the historic State-Thomas neighborhood.

Driving to the start

2700 Ann Williams Way (behind One Arts Plaza). From North Central (US-75), south toward downtown Dallas, exit to Ross Ave. West on Ross Ave, then immediately right into parking lot for the Fellowship Church and Dallas Black Dance Theater. Park behind the theatre on the Ross Ave side. Note: the theatre is in an old YMCA building behind One Arts Plaza at Routh and Flora streets.
