Event comments

BRING WATER AND FOOD. Parking is $5 per vehicle or post your federal pass. The only restrooms are at the start point. Groups are limited to 12 people. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, even yours. Be aware of summer thunderstorm activity. Snow may cover trail into late July. Peak wildflower season is July or August. High Sierra hike partly on the Pacific Crest Trail. Hike goes through Wilderness Area at 8,000+ to 9,000+ feet. No services and no drinking water at start or on the trail. Spectacular scenery.

Driving to the start box

Carson Pass, State Route 88, Alpine County. To register, mail signed start card and check ($3 per walker) to Nancy Alex, 803 Crestwater Lane, Sacramento, CA, 95831. Directions/map will be mailed upon receipt of registration. Include e-mail for faster response.
