Route features panoramic view of San Pedro River Valley & chance to see several very long freight trains pass through. Numerous churches along the route in this prime example of "small town USA." This event also offers a 2 km and a 3 km option.

Event information

Dawn to dusk. Registration box below counter under lottery machine-ask clerk.(sometimes is stored in the office.) Elevation is 4,800 ft. Route is along paved streets & on sidewalks w/one noticeable incline. 5 km trail is rated 1A. 10 km trail crosses double set of train tracks twice & is rated 2A. Walk is in Cochise County-the only county in the USA named for a native American.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start box

Speedway Gas Station, 104 E 4th. West I-10 exit 304 & proceed S on Ocotillo to traffic signal. Turn left & Speedway Station is at next light on right. East I-10 exit 303. Speedway Station on right beyond 3rd traffic light. Park in lot on side of building, if possible. Start Point open 24/7.
