Event comments
Walk past many interesting historic buildings, as well as a lot of new development. The city is revitalizing and adding more attractions each year. Montgomery has many civil rights landmarks, including the new Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. This walk passes the Alabama State Capital building, the first White House of the Confederacy, Martin L. King Memorial, several historic churches, and Hank Williams's grave site, to name a few.

Event information
Open 24/7. Walk daylight hours only. Primarily paved streets and sidewalks with some hills. Ask hotel attendant for the Walk Box. The box is kept in the big cabinet on the wall to the left of the check-in desks, on the bottom shelf. Metered parking on the surrounding streets and a parking garage behind the hotel on Molton Street. Metered parking spaces are free on weekends and daily after 6 p.m.

Driving to the start box
300 Tallapoosa St. 334-269-5055. From I-65 southbound, take Exit 172 (Downtown/Clay St). After 1st traffic light, turn left on Herron. Cross Interstate bridge. Go 5 blocks and turn left on Molton. Turn right on Tallapoosa. Hotel is on the left. From I-65 northbound, take Exit 172 (Herron) and follow above directions.
