Event comments
This walk is easily accessed from I-80. The 5k is within the town limits, while the 11k goes out to the site of the First Train Robbery west of the Mississippi, by Jesse James and his gang. There is also a small amount of native prairie at the robbery site. All walks pass the infamous "Smiley Face" water tower. The 11k is rated 3C as a portion of this walk is on the shoulder of a paved county road with moderate traffic. There are no restrooms or shade on a portion of this walk, carry water. This walk qualifies for the 2023 Iowa Counties Program, Adair County.
