Event comments
The downtown portion of the walk passes several historic buildings: The Cotton Theatre (1909) now home to the Cedar Fall Community Theatre, The Hotel Black Hawk (1879), White Building (1896) now home to Uncle Harry's Five and Dime Tavern. The walk also passes several museums:The Ice House Museum, The Little Red School House, Behrens-Rapp Filling Station and the Victorian Home & Carriage House Museum.Visit www.cfhistory.org for days and hours of operation. Both the 5k and 10k walks include the downtown portion. The 5k continues on the Cedar River Trail while the 10k takes walkers around Big Woods Lake. These walks are a wonderful combination of the historic downtown and the trails the area are known for.This walk qualifies for the 2023 Iowa County Program, Black Hawk County.
