Event comments
A highlight on the walk is the Owens Covered Bridge, the only covered bridge in Polk County. This walk is part of Iowa's Walking Club County Walk Program, Polk County. This trail is popular with bikers so be prepared to share the trail.

Event information
Dawn, finish by dusk. This is a remote start, beginning at Shelter 2. Walks are on multi-use trail. 5k is out and back, 10k continues around the lake. Highlights include the Owens Covered Bridge and a steel bridge across the west end of the lake. NOTE: DUE TO ONGOING HABITAT RESTORATION, THE 10K WALK IS SUBJECT TO TEMPORARY CLOSURES MONDAYS-FRIDAYS.

From I-235 take Exit 9 towards US 69/E14th. South on SE 14th, R on Indianola Av, L on Easter Lake Dr. The walk box is on a post in the gravel parking area just north of the flag pole.
