Event comments
Going West from the Summit Bridge Trailhead, you will complete the Michael N Castle Trail after about 5.5 kilometers. You'll then enter Maryland and the Ben Cardin Recreational Trail for the final 3 kilometers to Chesapeake City. If you are doing the longest distance, 17 kilometers, you'll turn around and walk back to the Summit Bridge Trailhead. We'll have 5 and 10 kilometer routes, too, that will remain in Delaware.

Event information
You must do the longest distance, 17 kilometers, to end up in Chesapeake City, Maryland (and return). The border from Delaware into Maryland (for Border Crossing special program credit) is 5.5 kilometers from the start point.

Driving to the start
To reach the Summit Bridge Trailhead (just south of Lums Pond State Park), from Middletown, at the intersection of US 301 and SR 299, take US 301 north for 8.5 miles. Turn right onto SR 71, and go 0.8 mile. Turn right onto Old Summit Road, and go 0.4 mile. A small gravel lot will be on your right.
