Event comments
The scenery is beautiful and the food is scrumptious: cinnamon rolls in the morning and homemade pies with lunch later. The volksmarch trail winds through Pactola Recreation trails and crosses the stream several times west of Silver City. This is a Rails to Trails event as follows a railbed that has long since been abandoned. Come enjoy all that Silver City has to offer at this special fundraising event for the fire department. Please bring mosquito repellent as the walk does follow the creek primarily.

Driving to the start
From Rapid City take Hwy. 44 West to Hwy. 385. Turn right. Continue to Whispering Pines Campground, turn left on Co. Rd. T299. Go 5 miles to Silver City. Look for yellow Volksmarch signs.
