Event comments

Restrooms at Parkrose, Starbucks and Pacific Community Park. Walk daylight hours only. Route goes through several neighborhoods, including Stoney Meadows with views of lovely houses and distant vistas, Maplecrest's park and trail, and Pacific Community Park, where there is a neighborhood pea patch and a large dog park. The dog park and pea patch are not on the 5K.There is a Buddhist Retreat Center on the 10K, which occasionally has the gates open and walkers may go through the parking lot and enjoy the statuary. Otherwise, the grounds may be viewed through the large gate.

Event information

REMOTE START: After registering, 10K walkers drive to the parking lot at 162nd Place Shopping Center, about one mile north. 5K walkers, drive to 29th Street and 172nd Avenue and park on 29th Street. At Parkrose Hardware, walk to the back of the store to Customer Service. The walk box will be on the counter where they place Amazon pick-up orders. You may have to ask for the box, but if you see it, you can just walk up to it. There is a restroom for customers at this location.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:

16905 SE 1st Street, Vancouver, WA 98684. From the North, take I-5 to 205 SB (no exit #). From 205, take Exit 32, Padden Pkwy. Turn left and stay on Padden Pkwy to 162nd Ave. Turn right and continue to 1st St. Turn left onto 1st, then right into Parkrose parking lot. From the South, take I-205 NB, crossing the Columbia to SR-14 toward Camas, Exit 27. Continue to 164th Ave exit, No. 8, and turn right onto 164th, which will become 162nd before your destination. At 162nd Ave and 1st St., turn right onto 1st, then right into Parkrose parking lot.
