Watkinsville is affectionately known as the Artland of Georgia. The Eagle Tavern opened in 1801 as a stagecoach stop and the tavern sits in the middle of downtown on its original site.

Event comments
The walk route begins and ends in downtown Watkinsville. The Oconee County Welcome Center is near the start point at 10 Water Street. You will walk through older and newer neighborhoods and through the trails of Watkinsville Woods. WirePark, an old mill complex converted to a local, small business shopping center is also on the route. The Eagle Tavern Museum at 26 N Main Street is near the end of your walk.
