The route travels through one of the original Sacramento land grants, the old Stock Ranch. Winding through the Stock Ranch residential areas and Van Maren Park, you reach the highlight of the walk, the little known and hidden riparian Stock Ranch Preserve along Arcade Creek. Continue through the shady oaks of the Crosswoods neighborhood to the Sylvan Oaks Community Library and park. Restrooms are located in Sam's Club and the Community Center.
