Event comments

Daily dawn to dusk. Walk on boardwalks and hard packed gravel trail. Boardwalks may be slippery in wet weather. The Nisqually Refuge has become an important place for wildlife and migratory birds. View songbirds, eagles, osprey and seasonal wildflowers. Save time for exhibits when Visitors Center is open. Volunteers are on hand to answer your questions (not on Monday or Tuesday). Bring camera and binoculars.

Event information

This is a National Refuge. There is a $3 fee to enter the Refuge. Pay box located in front of Visitors Center. This fee covers up to THREE PERSONS. FREE ENTRY for those with National Parks Senior Passes, Duck Stamps or Military Passes (Complete listing at Visitors Center). SORRY NO PETS IN REFUGE.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:

Chevron Station, 10246 Martin Way E. From North or South on I-5 take exit 114. Southbound exit goes right on to Martin Way E. Northbound turns right at the end of the ramp and another right at Martin Way E. Look for the Chevron Station on the right. Walk box located in cupboard at bottom Washington State Lottery kiosk inside of store. Register, take map and drive 1/2 mile to Refuge. Park in lot in front of Visitors Center if possible.
