Event information
Start/Finish during daylight hours only. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ask manager for walk binder on shelf below 1st register on the right, when facing store. The historic town of Ione is nestled in the foothills of Gold Country. The walk meanders through outlying newer residential areas passing by a golf course, then toward the historic Ione "Preston castle". And, from the castle to a trail through the woods toward the historic Howard Park racetrack oval. There are a few historic churches and cemeteries along the route.

Driving to the start box
313 Preston Ave. (along Hwy.104 & 124), Ione, CA 95640. From Hwy 99 in Stockton, exit Hwy 88 East approx 30 miles to Hwy 124. Left on Hwy 124, 2 miles to Ione. At Main St., turn left one block to Preston Ave. Right on Preston and left into Ione Plaza. From Hwy 99 at Hwy. 104 East, Twin Cities Rd. Follow Hwy 104 East, 23 miles to Ione. Ione Plaza on right.
