Event information
The remote 5K/10K start on the Island bordering the Willamette River. There are two 5K loops for the 10K. River loop may not be walked at times due to high water. Paved/natural paths in Park. You may view deer, Bald Eagles and other small wildlife on this walk. You will also have a good view of an osprey nest. OSB is highly recommended for this remote start 3 miles SW. Hospital is starting point for Capitol: Waterways & Old South Salem walks.

Recommend OSB since this is a remote walk. Salem Hospital, Bldg A (ER), 890 Oak St SE, Salem(503)561-5200. I-5, exit 253, go to Salem City Center. Follow Mission passing 12th Street traffic light to next traffic light. Right on Capitol. Free garage parking on levels 1-2. Club’s small 2-drawer black metal cabinet is next to the Volunteer sign-in station to the right of the front entrance of Bldg A and opposite the Reception Desk. Update: On weekends use the ER entrance by the parking garage; go right to go to front & Volunteer Station where walk cabinet is. M-F front entrance is open.
