Event comments

This route is intended to offer one long hike or three 9-10 km segments for the Pacific Crest Trail challenge. For any option hikers will need to arrange drop off or pickup at one end of the route. On the top segment you'll take in breathtaking views of Mt Hood. The middle segment continues a gradual decent through older growth forests and the third segment leads you on more level ground through majestic Douglas Fir stands and areas with huckleberries for you pleasure in the late summer and finishes at Little Crater Lake trailhead. Start of walk is in Clackamas County and the second leg moves into Wasco County for those doing county challenges.

Event information

This is a rugged hike with little to no support along the route. Hikers should carefully plan the hike to ensure safety. Hiking poles are recommended, hiking boots preferred, wear layers of hiking clothing, and bring sufficient water, snacks and first aid supplies for the trek. Be sure to notify a friend or family member of your hike plan and having a good topographical map of the area is encouraged.
