Event information

Wickford Village is one of the oldest preserved colonial seaside towns in the country. The walk is complemented by 13 interpretive signs highlighting the area’s past – shipbuilding, Narragansett settlers, steamships, grand architecture and more. Highlights include the Bush Hill Nature Reserve, the site of Washington Academy, and crossing the Clarence Hussey Memorial Bridge, a concrete arch design unique in the state. Also downtown is the mysterious Narragansett Rune Stone. On the 11k route, the Poplar Point Lighthouse is visible in the distance.
