Event comments

St. Simons Island is the largest barrier island in the Golden Isles of Georgia and lies across the Marshes of Glynn made famous by poet Sidney Lanier. This area is also the site of the original historical fiction series of Eugenia Price. The Island is steeped in history set against the backdrop of marshes, beautiful beaches and moss-draped stately oaks. The walk starts in the center of the village in a park with a fishing pier and waterside walk to the St. Simons' Lighthouse. The walk is through a variety of residential areas and a short distance along the beach. Then the walk continue through marshes and more residential areas back to the village center.
