Event comments
The walk consists of three loops, The Deb Choiniere Memorial Walk is 1.37K primarily on the Seminary Ridge Interpretative Trail. Deb was the Treasurer of the York White Rose Wanderers for many years. She was recovering from a stroke and walked this loop on March 5, 2022. She was having a medical issue when she completed the walk. She died later that day at Gettysburg Hospital of a brain hemorrhage. **** The Deb Choiniere MemorialWalk must be done with the 3.37K Town Walk for 5K Credit. The Town Walk goes between the YMCA and Lincoln Square. This is a possible option for lunch as the route passes several restaurants. **** The 5K Battlefield Walk goes between the YWCA and the Virginia State Monument. Part of the route is on the horse trail between McMillan Woods and the Virginia Monument. The route passes markers for many artillery batteries that participated in the artillery barrage preceding "Pickett's Charge" and the markers for the Infantry units in Pettigrew and Pender's Divisions that participated in Pickett's Charge.****The 6K route is the Deb Choiniere Memorial Walk plus the Battlefield Walk.

Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. ***** This walk starts from the Gettysburg YWCA. ***** The start box has been moved to the Danner Room, which is the first room between the Restrooms and the Registration Desk. The start box is on the right – next to the sink.

Driving to the start box
909 Fairfield Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325 (717)334-9171. From the square in Gettysburg go south on Baltimore St. (Bus. 15 S., PA 116 W.) 1 block to Middle St.Turn right on Middle St. (PA 116 W.) and go 7/10 mile, passing traffic signals at Washington St., Franklin St, West St., and Confederate Ave./Seminary Ridge. The YMCA driveway is 1/10 mile past Confederate Ave. on the right.
