The walk goes through the National Cemetery, past the Gettysburg Middle School, past part of downtown, around Gettysburg College, past businesses near the Cemetery and battlefield, through the "Highwater Mark" Area of the Battlefield, and to the Visitor's Center. **** Of the three Gettysburg YREs, this walk has the most possibilities to eat lunch.

Event information
Closed most holidays. The start box has been moved to the Danner Room, which is the first room between the Restrooms and the Registration Desk. The start box is on the right – next to the sink.****Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC. After registering, you must drive to the start at the parking lot for the National Cemetery. ***** If you are visiting Gettysburg and only have time to do one of the three YREs, this event is the one we recommend.**** Pets are not allowed inside the Gettysburg National Cemetery but you can do a detour and avoid the cemetery.

Driving to the start box
909 Fairfield Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325 (717)334-9171. From the square in Gettysburg go south on Baltimore St. (Bus. 15 S., PA 116 W.) 1 block to Middle St.Turn right on Middle St. (PA 116 W.) and go 7/10 mile, passing traffic signals at Washington St., Franklin St, West St., and Confederate Ave./Seminary Ridge. The YWCA driveway is 1/10 mile past Confederate Ave. on the right.
