Event comments
Both of the 5K trails start from the trailhead for the Big Roundtop Trail. The 5K Wheatfield Trail goes to Devils Den and then around "The Wheatfield". This area was the scene of heavy fighting on the second day of the battle, July 2, 1853. The 5K Little Roundtop Trail does an out and back on roads to the south east of Little Roundtop to positions held by the Union Sixth Corps. On the return it takes the trail past the position of the 20th Maine over the top of Little Round Top and then goes past the base of Little Roundtop before returning to the start. Both Devils Den and Little Roundtop were recently rennovated.

Event information
This trail is new for 2025. The start box has been moved to the Danner Room, which is the first room between the Restrooms and the Registration Desk. The start box is on the right – next to the sink. ****The YMCA is closed most holidays. Tour Operators please make arrangements with the POC.**** The port-a-johns at the start are seasonal so please use the restrooms before departing the YMCA.

Driving to the start box
909 Fairfield Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325 (717)334-9171. From the square in Gettysburg go south on Baltimore St. (Bus. 15 S., PA 116 W.) 1 block to Middle St.Turn right on Middle St. (PA 116 W.) and go 7/10 mile, passing traffic signals at Washington St., Franklin St, West St., and Confederate Ave./Seminary Ridge. The YMCA driveway is 1/10 mile past Confederate Ave. on the right.
