Event comments
Much of the walk has views of a nearby creek. The rail trail goes through Howard Tunnel - short enough that flashights are not needed. The tunnel is on the National Register of Historic Places and is the second oldest active rail tunnel in the United States. You will be passing farm fields, woods and wetlands.

Event information
The walk box is on the front porch, under a bench, and is accessible at all times. Walk from dawn to dusk. There is a port-a-john at Brillhart Station. If all of the parking at Brillhart Station is taken, there is additonal parking at the adjacent athletic fields.

90 Indian Rock Dam Rd., York, PA 17403 (717)741-3485. Refer to Heritage Rail Trail walk #1, Y1771, for directions to start location. You will register here and drive 3 miles to the start point. There is a port-a-john at Brillhart Station.
