Explore Deming and its many historic buildings. Deming was part of the 1853 Gadsden Purchase which was to provide railroad access across the southern part of the US to California. A Golden Spike was driven here in 1881 with the meeting of the Southern Pacific and the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad lines.Stamp and directions available at Silver City during the Las Cruces National Convention Apr 29-May 3.
