The South Salem area, just south of State Capitol, was annexed by the City of Salem in 1903. WOC: Garden, Gazebo, High School, Historic Houses, Hospitals, Italian, Justice, Nature, Noodles, Overlook, Palm Trees, Parks, Pedestrian Bridges, Playground Structures, Roses, Statues, Victorian House, Tax Preparers, Xrays, Zone ESVA: Med Facilities, Strolling Along the Rivers, Cultural, Tell Me A Story.

Event information
This walk focuses on one of South Salem's loveliest residential areas: High Street & the Gaiety Hill-Bush Pasture Park Historic District with its attractive residences/gardens. 5K, rated 1A, has one hill; the 10K is a 2A with several hills. Walk on mostly paved with gravel/wood chip path in the Park. Hospital is also starting point for Capital-Waterways & for registering for the remote Minto-Brown Island Park 5K10K about 3 miles SW.

Salem Hospital, Bldg A, 890 Oak St SE, Salem. Don't use GPS for this location. Follow below driving directions. (503)561-5200. I-5, exit 253, head to Salem City Center. Follow Mission past 12th St traffic light to next traffic light. Right on Capitol. Free parking in garage levels 1-2. If garage is full, use Bush Park parking lot on Mission to the west. Club's 2-drawer black metal cabinet with AVA sign is under the Volunteer sign-in station to the right of Bldg A entrance and opposite reception desk. Payment is to be left in cabinet's locked drawer. Note: On weekends use the ER entrance in the back of Bldg A by the parking garage; go right to go to the front entrance & Volunteer Station where walk cabinet is. M-F front entrance is open.
