Event comments

Walking in the small town of Stevenson, WA will give you the authentic feel of life in the Columbia Gorge. The wind blows consistently, making this location very attractive to board sailing in all of its forms. The winds cause the magnificent Columbia River to roil with waves, which contribute to the sport of board sailing. You may see a paddle wheel tour boat plying its way along the river giving its passengers a unique perspective of the gorge and the river. On the 10 km route, you will have an opportunity to visit the Columbia Gorge Interpretative Center and Museum. Here you can learn about the life of the indigenous people who inhabited the area for centuries before the early European settlers arrived. You will also walk a natural Columbia Gorge trail and experience the difficulty of navigating through this steep terrain. It is a truly wonderful experience.
