Event comments
Anthropologists believe that the Yuki tribe of the Wappo Native Californians lived in the area for over 7,000 years. The Kenwood Depot & a 45 room hotel were built in 1887, which allowed for trains to bring people from the Bay Area to purchase newly surveyed land. Tom Smothers bought property here in 1985, naming it Remick Ridge Ranch for his grandfather, where he had vineyards and opened the Smothers Brothers tasting room in town. The Nuns Fire in 2017 & The Glass Fire in 2020 destroyed many homes here. Homes have been rebuilt, many using modern fire resistant materials. Enjoy your walk around this small town with many wineries, restaurants, & wine tasting opportunities as well as gift shops!

Event information
There is a $4 fee, even if no event credit is desired. First time AVA participants may walk for free. Pillowfight Coffee has a restroom, and there is a public restroom at Palooza Brewery & Gastropub. Other businesses have restrooms for customers. Please park away from the businesses. The Kenwood Post Office is closed on Saturdays.

Driving to the start
8910 Sonoma Highway(Hwy 12) Ste B12, Kenwood, CA.West from Sacramento on I-80. Take Exit 39B CA-12W toward Sonoma/Napa. Follow signs to continue on CA-12W toward Sonoma/Santa Rosa. Kenwood is 11 miles before Santa Rosa on CA-12W and 11 miles past Sonoma. Start will be on your left. From San Francisco take US-101N across the Golden Gate Bridge toward Santa Rosa, Exit 488B to merge onto CA-12E toward Sonoma. Follow signs for Hwy-12E to Kenwood. about 11 miles. Start will be on your right. Please park away from the businesses.
