The walk starts at the Visitor's Center Parking lot and crossed to the Creekside Trail to the old schoolhouse where the trailhead starts Lover's Leap trail which is a loop.

Driving to the start
The Custer State Park Visitor's Center is on Hwy 16A on the eastern side of Custer State Park. From Rapid City take HWY 79 south to Hwy 36 West, to 16A into Custer State Park. This the park's free weekend so no state park sticker is required to enter the park.
