Event comments
There are four trails. Two urban and two rural. Both are rated 2A and suitable for strollers but not wheelchairs. Pets officially aren't allowed on Start Point grounds, but can be kept in vehicles when you register and can be walked to and from your car once you are walking. The urban trails are along historic city and residential streets and through local parks alongside the Potomac River. Old Town Alexandria is full of American history featuring our first President, George Washington, and Civil War families like the Lees. The rural tour takes you away from the city along major throughfares and aside some of Alexandria's beautiful, and less seen homes. General Admission to the Memorial includes a Guided Tour (first, second floor and tower exhibits plus observation deck) for $20. Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and are admitted to the Memorial and guided tours for free.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:
101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria VA 22301. By car, I-495/I-95 (Metro area Beltway) exit 176B, Telegraph Rd N (Rt 241) less than 1/4 mile, exit to Rt 236 (E) downtown Alexandria to 2nd stoplight. Turn left at stoplight to Callahan Dr, to 1st left turn to driveway of Masonic National Memorial (about 200 ft before stoplight at King St). Free parking North side of Memorial. By Metro, Yellow or Blue lines to King St station. Exit station to King St, turn left, walk up hill to Start Point. Use front / main door to enter the Masonic Memorial.
