Event comments

Park fills up rapidly on weekends causing rangers to close gates. Go early on weekends or call ahead to check availability. Trail is rated 1B and is 60% shaded. This is the largest spring on the St Johns River and is a designated Manatee Refuge during the winter, home to a growing population of the West Indian Manatee. It's not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Walk on paved park road, unpaved campground road, service road, hiking trail, Blue Run and Spring Boil Boardwalk where manatees are present in colder winter months.

Event information

Daily, 8am-dusk. Pets are not allowed in campgrounds and concessions or on beaches and boardwalks.Beginning mid-July 2026, visitors to the park will have to make an online reservation for a Day Pass to access by car or pedestrian/bicycle. This requires first creating an account with Florida State Parks at: https://reserve.floridastateparks.org/Web/Memberships/CustomerMembershipPasses.aspxOnce registered, you may select Blue Spring as your park and reserve entry on any day out to 60 days before your intended visit, and will pay electronically.Instructions are on the website.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:

2100 W French. (386)775-3663. From I-4 W, exit 114; SR 472 W 3.1 miles; US 17-92 S. 1.7 miles; right on West French. 2.0 miles, left to Park. From I-4 E, exit 111B, W on Saxon. 1.3 miles; right on Enterprise one mile; right on US 17-92 two miles; left on West French two miles, left to Park. Must pay park entrance fee, ask for Volkssport box. Attendant will tell you where to park.
