Event comments

This section of the York Heritage Rail Trail links John Rudy Park in East Manchester Township to the Loucks Mill Road lot off Route 30. Aside from the sunny stretch through John Rudy Park, most of the route is shaded and follows the peaceful Codorus Creek, offering cool breezes and scenic water views. The area is home to a pair of majestic bald eagles, often seen soaring overhead or perched in riverside trees, adding a touch of wild beauty to this relaxing and picturesque walk. The Codorus Creek is a vital waterway flowing through York County, rich in history and natural beauty. It provides important habitat for wildlife, including fish and birds, and its clean waters support recreational activities like fishing and kayaking, making the trail along its banks especially scenic and serene.
