Event information
You will have to drive approximately 1.2 miles from the registration to the parking lot for the Walk. The walk will be on the Appalachian Trail in Clarke County. Hours of operation for the start point are: Monday thru Saturday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, closed on Sunday. If you want to start earlier or walk on Sunday, you must register the day before. There are no restrooms on the Appalachian Trail. Border Crossing is on the 10k and 12k trails only.

Driving to the start box
The registration point name is Pine Grove Restaurant at 574 Pine Grove Road route 679. You have to drive approximately 1.1 miles to the start point. From the east (Leesburg): Take Route 7 West. After the top of the mountain go approximately 0.2 miles and TURN RIGHT on Pine Grove Road for 0.9 miles. Registration point will be on your left.From the west (Winchester): Take Route 7 East. After crossing the Shenandoah River go approximately 0.8 miles and TURN LEFT on Pine Grove Road route 679. After approximately 0.5 miles the registration point will be on your right.The restaurant is NOT open 24 hours, but the start box will be available 24 hours because it will be on the front porch on the left next to a trash can.
