Benicia Fitness is open 7 days a week. The route goes past the Capitol building, through historic downtown, around the marina and on part of the Bay Area Trail along the Carquinez Straits. There is an approximate 50 yd section of dirt trail.

Event information
The State Capitol Building is a jewel and well worth visiting. Before bridges, the railroad ended in Benicia at the Carquinez Strait. Trains were ferried by boat across the Carquinez Strait so they could continue on their way. The railroad depot is still standing. Pony Express riders continued on to Benicia if they missed the riverboat in Sacramento. The town of Benicia is full of early California historic buildings, wonderful restaurants and creative shopping.

Driving to the start box
From I-80 or 680 take I-780 to Benicia. Take E 2nd St. exit, turn Left onto E 2nd St. Turn Right on Military East then Left on 1st St. Benicia Fitness is at 606 1st St. on the Left. Start box is in hall to bathroom atop the lockers.Public parking in Solano Square and Benicia Community Center.
