Course Rated 1A. The walk is mostly flat or has a slight grade, some portions are unpaved. Walk along the Champlain Canal tow path and thru the village of Schuylerville. The trail will take you through downtown to the Philip Schuyler House, lead you to Lock 5 of the Hudson River Canal System and onto the nature trails of Hudson Crossing Park. The extension of the 10K trail offers a bit of the countryside experience just beyond the village.

Driving to the start
Fort Hardy Park/Schuyler's Canal Park, Reds Road, Schuylerville, NYDirections: From the South: Northway to Exit 14, follow sign to Rt 29 East in to Schuylerville. At traffic light turn right onto Rt 4 (Broad St). At next traffic turn left onto Ferry St. (Rt 29 East) then a short distance past new Visitor's Center, left on Red Rd (Fort Hardy Park/Schuyler's Canal Park. From West: Take Rt 29 (Lake Ave) East out of Saratoga, approximately 10 miles to Schuylerville. At traffic light turn right onto Rt 4 (Broad St) . At next traffic light, turn left onto Ferry St (Rt 29East) then a short distance past new Visitor's Center, Left onto Red Rd (Fort Hardy Park/Schuyler'sCanal Park).
