Event comments

This year we have included in the walk the newly opened Princeton Art Museum. Walkers may take time to visit in the museum or go on their way to continue the trail. This walk is on the D&R (Delaware & Raritan) Canal Towpath. The D&R was constructed by Irish immigrants 1830-1834. It served to connect the Delaware and Raritan Rivers. It was an efficient and reliable transport for freight esp coal. 1973 National Record of Historic Places. Trail follows along part of the main canal towpath running 29 miles between Trenton and New Brunswick, NJ. Walk out and back along quiet woods on the traffic free trail. The towpath is part of the East Coast Greenway, a walking and biking route stretching 3000 miles from Maine to Florida, our nation's most popular corridor.Lunch or early dinner together is always an option. There are several places to dine in the mall right next to the Hyatt. Happy Trails.
