Event comments
Wander through the historic city of Palatka on the St. John's River and visit the annual Florida Azalea Festival. View the many murals in town, as well as the spectacular grounds of Ravine Gardens State Park, a 146-acre nature area built by the CCC as a WPA project in the 1930s. The park includes more than 5,000 Azaleas that will be in bloom. The 6 km trail in town is 1A, on city sidewalks and suitable for strollers / wheelchairs. The 11 km trail includes 2 miles in Ravine Gardens State Park and is rated 2C, with some moderate hills, stair climbing and a significant part of the on difficult terrain - narrow dirt trails with ruts/roots. These trail options are not suitable for wheelchairs and only support rugged-terrain strollers.This is a non-competitive, fun event for all participants. People of all ages are welcome! An adult must accompany all minors on this event. All participants must sign-in on our registration log containing the AVA Amateur Athletic Waiver and Release of Liability. A club representative will assist you at the start point.

Event information
This year will be a GUIDED walk only, so arrive between 9:30 -- 10:00 AM. Groups will depart at 10:00 AM There is a $4.00 (cash or check) fee covering administrative costs for the event and for the AVA/IVV event stamp used to sanction/record the event. An additional $2.00 (cash) is required at the Ravine Gardens entrance to walk the grounds. No refunds are provided after the start of the walk.

Quality Inn & Suites Palatka Riverfront201 N 1st St, Palatka, FL 32177DIRECTIONS:From the SOUTH: Take I-95 to Exit 273. Drive North on US 1 for 20 miles going through Bunnell to FL Hwy 100. Turn right onto FL Hwy 100. [OR, use I-95 Exit 284 to FL Hwy 100 directly, and drive West to Bunnell.] Continue another 24 miles on FL Hwy 100 to Rte 17, North. Continue on Rte 17 crossing the St. John's River Memorial Bridge. Turn Right immediately after crossing the bridge, the hotel is on your right. From the NORTH, Exit 311 off I-95 to FL Hwy 207 for 20 miles to Rte 17, then as above.
