Event comments
Walk on well worn natural trails in preserved battlefield. Highlights include beautiful views and historical markers telling of the May 1863 battle.The Battle of Chancellorsville, is considered to be General Robert E. Lee's greatest defensive victory during the American Civil War. In addition to plaques, there are earthworks and 2 former building sites. The trail is mostly in the woods. Expect some roots and may be soggy after rain.The Visitors Center is open daily 9-5 (except holidays) and offers exhibits and a 20-minute film explaining the battle. Outside the visitors center is a short trail that leads to a monument marking the approximate location of General "Stonewall" Jackson's fateful wounding
