After 20 years of teaching, Ty is switching gears. He is leaving Orcutt Academy High School and joining the Educational Outreach Team at the new Planes of Fame Air Museum at the Santa Maria Airport, which just happens to be 5k away.Ty's former and current students, past and current colleagues, family, friends, neighbors, and his extended Volksmarching inner circle are invited to experience this unique walk with crafts, games, activities, and all-around frivolity while walking from his old work to his new work. NOTE: Walkers wishing to enjoy a 5k event are stongly encouraged to buddy up to leave one car at the airport and carpool to the school so a ride is waiting for them. Event information
A truly unique walk based on the suggestions of Suzi Glass, and similar to Ginger's 60th Birthday Walk in SLO. Join us for Fun, Fitness, Friendship, and Frivolity! Walk from Orcutt Academy High School to the new Planes of Fame Museum on the Santa Maria Airport while completing fun activities and games. $5.00 walk donation offsets gift bag costs and pays for Guest Walking Fee. Credit walkers pay $9 total for bag and IVV Credit. See beachboardwalkers.org for sign up information. Only 100 gift bags will be offered. Registration confirmation email will be sent by 7/1/26.

Driving to the start
Highway 101 North or South to Clark Avenue Exit (Exit 164). Proceed West for 2.4 miles to Norris (just past Jack In The Box, the Highway 135 overpass, and a small uphill). Left on Norris for two blocks to parking lot.
