Event comments

In September 1781, the combined Colonial and French armies traveled from Rhode Island to the Battle at Yorktown along this corridor through nine colonies (now states) and what is now Washington, D.C. This segment of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (W3R) is the National Park Service's Mount Vernon Trail, a flat multi-use path that runs from Washington, D.C. to the home of the first President, George Washington, in Mount Vernon. The linear-park's trail has multiple restrooms and will go through the historic city of Alexandria. Walkers or youth groups who cannot use the AVA Online Start Box can contact the POC. ...
