This trail is a portion of the Mountain to River (M2R) Trail, which, when completed, with go from Kennesaw Mountain to the Chattahoochee River. This portion is an out and back that will begin at the Marietta Welcome Center and take you to the Visitors Center at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield.

Event information

This walk we'll go through historic Marietta, passing historic homes, churches and through four cemeteries. The walk is almost a 100% flat paved sidewalks with a short distance on gravel. A short alternate route allows strollers in wheelchairs to avoid a flight of stairs heading up into the Confederate cemetery.

Driving to the start

4 Depot St NE, Marietta, GA 30060 - From I-75 N to Exit 263, Marietta/Roswell. At the exit, bear left and up and around to Hwy 120 W toward Marietta/KSU Campus. At the light at US 41 turn right to light at Roswell St (Big Chicken on corner), then turn left on Roswell St and follow directions into Marietta below. From I-75 S, take Exit 265 Marietta/Roswell, then turn right to US 41. Turn left on US 41 to light at Roswell St (Big Chicken on corner). Turn right and follow Roswell St into Marietta until you reach the Marietta Square/Glover Park. Turn right one block on East Park, then left one block on North Park. Continue straight at light (becomes Mill St) toward the railroad tracks. Park your car along Mill St or back at the Square. The Welcome Center faces the RR tracks on your left, 1/2 walking block down from Mill St.
