Event comments
Experience the historic Ray's Hill Tunnel (7K) and Sideling Hill Tunnel (23K) on the Abandoned PA Turnpike. Walkers and bikers will enjoy the unique tunnel experience, scenic old roadway, and surrounding Appalachian landscapes. The 23K loop is long for walkers, but shorter options allow everyone to pass through a tunnel. Participants will see the concrete roadbed, stone tunnel portals, and remnants of the old Turnpike. Lights are required in the tunnels, and bikers should carry a spare tube and tools to fix flats. Broken glass is common.

Event information
Important: Parking is limited. A flashlight or headlamp is required for the tunnels. Watch for broken glass along the route, especially in the tunnel areas. Alternate Start Location is available in the walk directions but requires tolls.
