Route 66 in Collinsville IL on. Located along the third phase of the Scenic Route 66 Byway, a trek in Collinsville features numerous opportunities to reminisce in history while enjoying the hospitality of this charming town. 1.Appreciate the detail in vivid commemorative murals. 2.Soak in area history at the Historical Museum. 3.Take a selfie in front of the Route 66 shield and post it for a chance to win a $66 gift certificate. 4.Gaze in the sky at the base of the giant Catsup Bottle tower. 5.Explore urban farming at the Willoughby heritage farm. 6.Join in a Docent-led tour of historic D.D. Collins House. 7.And so much more for getting your kicks along Route 66!

Event information
Everyone is welcome to participate in this event for a fee of $4. Children age 12 and under, accomplished by an adult, walk free. All participants must register and receive a start card to be carried during the walk. Start cards remain the property of the Illinois Trekkers and must be turned in at the end of the walk. There is no refund for monies paid. Event will take place regardless of weather. Pets are welcome on the routes but must be kept on a leash and owner must pick up pet waste.

Driving to the start
From Interstate 255, take Exit 24 onto Collinsville Road. Go approximately 0.41 miles on Collinsville Road. Keep right onto St. Louis Road. Continue on St. Louis Road approximately 1.75 miles to W. Main Street. Continue on W. Main to the D.D. Collins House, 703 W. Main (at the corner of Combs Street). Parking available in lot behind the home.
