West Point is one of our country's National Historic Landmarks but it is an active US Military Base. It is possible for security or other reasons the post may be closed, plan ahead.There is a steep hill on the trails.

Event information
Both 6 & 10k trails pass main academic area, Chapels, historic monuments, & athletic facilities . Magnificent views of Hudson River. The 10k trail includes the cemetery. IMPORTANT! You MUST obtain a "Local Area Credential" ("LAC", a photo ID card) before you enter the post. It is good for a year. Refer to the website for the documentation and info you need to provide to the Visitor's Control Center ahead for your LAC. We are advised (but call ahead for details to confirm; (845) 938-0390 or (845) 938-0392) that the Visitor's Control Center is now open. Walk during daylight hours only.
