Three distinct trails are included in this linear walk. From west to east, the route travels across the Hudson Valley Rail Trail (maintained by the Town of Lloyd), The Walkway Over the Hudson (NY State), and the Dutchess County Rail Trail (Dutchess County). End to end, a total of approximately 20 miles. The Start Point is near the western entrance to the Walkway Over the Hudson where the 5K/8K/10K/12K options are mapped from with specific directions. But any distance across any or all three trails are acceptable for this walk. Walk daylight only.

Event information
Stroll along either (or both) Rail Trails from the same Start Point including the "Walkway over Hudson River" (the world's tallest & longest elevated pedestrian bridge: 212 ft over River). The longer 12k trail is a loop through the City of Poughkeepsie that recrosses the Hudson River on Mid-Hudson (FDR) bridge back to St. Pt.; not all route combinations go across the Walkway; see walking directions for details. 12K loop 2A; all others are 1. Walk during daylight hours only.

Driving to the start box
3579 US Rt 9W, Highland, NY 12528-1730. Rt 9W on West Side Hudson River across Hudson from Poughkeepsie & US Rt 9. 7a.m. to dusk. (There is alternative small parking lot at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park that is more easily accessible for wheel chair and strollers. 2k needs to be deducted from certain distances if using this lot; walking directions will have details).
