Event information
Walk along historic Sharpsburg, MD founded in 1763 and once considered by General George Washington as a potential location for the U.S. Capital. Close to two national parks: The C&O Canal and Antietam Battlefield. Glimpse the past as Sharpsburg remains very much as it did in the 1800's.

Driving to the start box
Anne Kat Dittrich's Front porch 116 East Main St. Sharpsburg, MD 21782. From 70E take exit 49 onto US 40 alt toward Braddock Heights and Middletown take left on 40 alt toward Middletown. Go through Middletown, over south mountain to Boonsboro. At approximately 11 miles at traffic light make left onto Route 34. Go approximately 6 miles to Sharpsburg. 116 E Main is a green house with white porch house across from Captain Bender's. If you get to square you have gone too far. Box will be right side of porch. From 70W take exit 29 onto MD-65S turning towards Sharpsburg traveling approximately 11 miles. At the stop sign in Sharpsburg turn right 116E Main is green hour with white porch across from Captain Bender's. If you hit square you have gone too far. Box will be on right side of porch.
