You must register via the OSB and pay for IVV credit for each day that you walk. You may take event credit for each day and take distance credit for the distance walked for that day. (Note: The AVA Northeast Region also sponsors a Seasonal Walk (Fort Montgomery NY) that also qualifies for the Appalachian Trail special program, #Y1973)). This walk, if doing the Bear Mountain Bridge section described in item #5 as part of the AT trail, is also available for credit for the AVA "Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail" See the trail directions for specific information on this special program and how to view the Hudson River Crossing they took from Kings Ferry in Verplanck NY to Stony Point immediately south of the current day bridge that crosses the Hudson. If a walker encounters what they believe is a qualifier while on a sanctioned event, and the program has not been listed in the description or directions, they may take a picture and stamp an Insert Card upon finishing. When they are able, they can seek a ruling from the Northeast Region contact for this walk (andrewnywalks@gmail.com). With an affirmation, the stamp may be pasted into the program logbook.
