Event comments
The route is on grass paths, paved walkways, and gravel trails. The walk uses the Capital Area Greenbelt connection between Fort Hunter Park and Wildwood Park. Both parks have shaded areas, the Greenbelt does not. Wear sunscreen and carry water. The route takes you along the Susquehanna River on the Greenbelt to Wildwood Park. At Wildwood Park, you may observe turtles, birds, and many flowers around the lake. Returning along the Greenbelt to Fort Hunter Park, you walk around the many preserved historic buildings and learn a little bit about them. As an alternative to using the OSB, the event POC supports REMOTE REGISTRATION where emails or US mail to/from the POC are used to request event registration, send directions, collect event fees, and provide stamped insert cards/books. Contact Pat Eby for remote registration. DO NOT contact the POC for Online Start Box issues, instead use the OSB-Contact Us- link on the bottom of the my.ava.org homepage.
