GPS: 40.63025288750238, -116.95142287788073. Walk starts at the Maverick gas station; 775 S Broad St; Battle Mountain, NV. Lander County formed 1862 from Churchill County & Humboldt County. Named for: Frederick W. Lander (1821–1862), an American Civil War general and developer of the area. The city's main industries have always been mining and ranching, both of which continue to this day.

From TI Las Vegas (6hrs31min): US-95 north to Tonopah; US-6 east for 5.4 miles; LEFT on NV-376 for 100 miles; LEFT on US-50 west for 13 miles; RIGHT on NV-305 for 88 miles; the Maverick gas station will be on your left just after you pass over I-80. Restrooms available. Please park away from the main door.
